Mark Kahaliaaloha Nakoa
Mark Kahaliaaloha Nakoa, 59 of Hilo, Hawaii, passed away at his home in Hilo on June 1, 2022. He was born in Honolulu, and grew up in Nanakuli. Mark was a 1981 graduate of Nanakuli High and Intermediate School, and his favorite sport in high school was football with which his position was a linebacker, in both pee wee division and high school varsity. After high school Mark moved on to start a career as a mason, employed by Saito Company, for a significant number of years. He later visited family on the Big Island and made Hilo his home. He was preceded in death by his loving Father Edgar K. Nakoa, Sr. and Nephew Andrew Nakoa, Jr. Survived by Sons, Mark (Henani) Vilmaire, Clayton Vilmaire-Nakoa; 5 Grandchildren; Loving Companion Dayna DeCanto-Santiago of Hilo; Mother Kathryn "Aunty Kay" Nakoa; Brothers: Edgar Jr., Derek (Doreen) Sr., Andrew (Bernice) Sr., Gabriel "Gabe", James "Kimo"; Sister, Lori Lynn, Dera (Niece). Services will be held at O'ahu Mortuary Chapel on Thursday, July 28, 2022. Visitation: 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.; Services: 11:30 a.m.
