Charlie had a passion for airplanes and dogs. He enjoyed playing tennis at Kapiolani Park, and piloting small planes over Utah, Florida, and Hawaii. All who walked Crofton Parkway or Diamond Head saw him walking his dogs Bo and Josh, or his adopted dog, Lily.
An active person, Charlie enjoyed skiing, took his first skydiving jump in his sixties, and when not playing tennis or jogging, he enjoyed volunteering as an EMT with the Crofton Fire Department, and was the friendly face with advice for tourists at the Honolulu Visitor Center in front of the zoo.
Charlie was preceded in death by his father Charles, his mother Dorothy, and his brother John and is survived by his wife Rosemary, his two daughters, Amy and Erin, son-in-law Chris, sister Doris, and nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl), at a later date. Condolences may be sent to Legacy.com
