FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Violet Yayoi Masuoka
Violet Yayoi MasuokaViolet Yayoi Masuoka passed away peacefully on May 30, 2022 at The Queen's Medical Center at the age of 80.

Violet loved everyone and everybody loved her. Violet lived a full and happy life. She and her surviving husband Edwin enjoyed raising and playing with her surviving children, daughter, Jodi (Clifford Chew) and sons, Aaron (fiancée Gayle Tasaka) and Brandon. She also enjoyed her grandsons, Alden and Caden Chew.

Violet is also survived by her sisters, Harumi Nakagawa of Hilo, Hawaii and Tsugiko Miyake of Kapaa, Kauai; brothers, Shinichi Nakamura and Roy (Jane) Nakamura of Oahu and sister-in-law, Tatsue Nakamura of Hilo, Hawaii. Predeceased are brothers, Junichi Nakamura and Iwao Nakamura and wife Doris of Hilo, Hawaii; brother-in-laws, Lawrence Nakagawa of Hilo, Hawaii and Toshiharu Miyake of Kapaa, Kauai and sister-in-law, Dorothy Nakamura of Oahu.

Violet was born on March 11, 1942 in Hilo, Hawaii to Shunichi and Shizue Nakamura, both deceased.

Violet graduated from Hilo High School and The Queen's Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.

Violet enjoyed many travel tours and cruises with Ed, golfing (made four holes-in-one), ballroom dancing and watching sports and TV programs.

Violet was a great wife, mother, grandmother, aunty and had many friends. We all will miss her but always remember her.

Private family services were held.
