Richard Tadashi Sakamoto
90, of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away at home on July 18, 2022, surrounded by his family. Richard graduated from Iolani School and attended the University of Hawaii. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and received an honorable discharge. Utilizing the GI Bill, he attended the University of Illinois School of Dentistry where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and practiced dentistry in Honolulu from 1960 until his retirement in 2005. Richard was an avid fisherman in his younger years and loved traveling to Vegas till the very end.
Richard is survived by his wife Charlotte, daughter Ann, son Ted, sister Henrietta Nagahisa, brother Milton, grandchildren Brooke and Dane and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son John. He will be fondly remembered for his kindness, generosity, and devotion to his family.
Private Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
