Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Esther Jimenez Kai of Paauilo, HI and three sons - Keoni, Mike (Lisa), Lenny (Kristina) and his daughter, Elissa (Henry) Springer. Johnny and Esther have 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
He is a 1963 graduate of St. Joseph High School in Hilo, Hawaii and attended Hawaii Technical School and College of Marin in Kentfield, CA.
Johnny was a devout Christian and was a member of Church LV in Henderson and Inspire Church in Hawaii.
He was a police officer with the Hawaii Police Department from 1965-1978. He later became the Security and Personnel Director for Hawaiian Holiday Macadamia Nut Co in Honokaa, HI. He was the co-founder of Royal Guard Security in Honolulu, HI. After relocating to West Linn, Oregon, he became the Security Director with the Sheraton Portland Airport. When he and Esther relocated to Las Vegas, they both worked as roving managers at various facilities for the Holiday Retirement Company.
He was an avid sportsman and coached youth sports at all levels on the Big Island of Hawaii. He continued to be involved in athletics as a referee for high school basketball games while living in West Linn, OR.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Inspire Church, 94-877 Lumiana St, Waipahu, HI. Doors open at 10:00am and Service at 11:00am. Casual Attire. Flowers welcome.
