BARRY ROBERT CHANG
BARRY ROBERT CHANGBarry Robert Chang, passed away unexpectedly on June 27, 2022 at the age of 73, returning home from Las Vegas, his favorite vacation destination, with good friends. Barry was born on November 14, 1948 in Honolulu to Mabel Yuk Lan Kwan and Bernard Moon Chew Chang. He has one younger brother, Jacob (Jolene) Chang. Barry graduated from Castle High School in 1966. After graduating, Barry enlisted in the Army and served in Germany for over 2 years. In 1973, he joined the Honolulu Police Department and served as an undercover officer for two years before joining his recruit class. Although he retired from HPD in 2001, he maintained lifelong friendships with his fellow officers. He was proud to serve his country and State.
Barry married Dawn Naomi Shiroma of Kaneohe and was proudest of his children and grandchildren. Barry is survived by his ex-wife Dawn Naomi; 3 children and 7 grandchildren: Kaulana (MyLe) Marley, and Ayla Chang, Dayna (Kahea) Olivia, Henry, and Charles Williams, and Kapono (Monica) Lokahi, and Kala'i Chang. Barry really enjoyed going to Las Vegas with his friends, diving with his son for tako, and especially spending joyful time with his family. But he was most proud of his three children and loved being a Grandpa.

Services will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022
at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery in Kaneohe from 9-12pm. 9-10:30 - Visitation; 10:30-11am Program; 11-12pm final Visitation.
