FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Clarence Shoichi Sakai
Was born, raised, and educated in Honolulu. He was the eldest of 3 children of Fred and Hatsume Sakai. After serving in the U.S. Army, he continued his education at the University of Hawaii and Tulane University. He returned home to raise his family and work as a physician and surgeon for nearly 40 years. He was a man of few words but exemplified kindness, compassion and patience throughout his life. He passed away April 22, 2022 at the age of 95.

He is survived by his wife Hideko, daughters Sharon Sato (Mendel) and Leslie Tawata (Ricky), his brother Herbert Sakai, 6 grandchildren and 6 great- grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service was held at Manoa Valley Church and inurnment was at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl
