74Our Dad, the Rev. Dr. Teruo Kawata, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2022, at the age of 94.
Dad and Mom were married for 68 years, before her passing in 2020. They raised 3 children: Mark, Ellen and John, and had 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
In his life's work with the United Church of Christ he touched many lives. He was loved and respected across the nation. He was a good and faithful servant.
We will be honoring our Dad on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at the Community Church of Honolulu, 2345 Nuuanu Avenue. Visitation: 10:00 a.m.; Service: 11:00 a.m. We'll be hosting a Celebration of his Life following the service so bring your musical instruments and voices to join in the festivities.
