FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Roy “Sam” Kiyoshi Hirokawa
Roy Dr. Roy K. Hirokawa O.D., son of James and Kanae, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, in his Kaneohe home on the island of Oahu. His legacy of service, music, and faith lives on through his wife and eternal companion, Jeanne S. Dickson; his children: Richele (Kenny), Marti Ann (Craig), Micah (Liza), Sarah (Nate), Jeremy (Jennifer), Benjamin (Kealohapauole), Rachel (Michael), Timothy (Cara), John (Katie); his 28 grandchildren and his two sisters, Myrtle Kaneshiro and Dorothy Kometani. Preceded in death by his daughter Joni and older brother Howard.
Roy was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was also a Son of Iolani School (class of '57) and went on to graduate from Pacific University. He will receive an officers' burial as a retired Colonel in the United States Army Reserves. Roy served everyone around him by sharing his music, talking story, opening his home, and most of all through his priceless smile. We are confident his Aloha will live on within us all.

Public Viewing 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. (Program to follow)
Burial at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery 1:00 p.m.
