83, of Pearl City, passed away on June 1, 2022. Born in Kamuela, HI on December 25, 1938. Sylvia was an amazing, loving, generous Wife, Sister, Mom, Grandmother and Friend who had the most gentle soul. She enjoyed traveling, eating her sweets and spending time with her family, friends, and church community. She especially loved watching her grandkids play sports, listening to them play the piano, and going on walks with her grandfurbaby. Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Yoichi Yamaguchi. She is survived by her daughter Angie (Gordon), son Dwayne (Dawn), three grandchildren Shea, Shawn and Shelby, grand- furbaby Keely, and "adopted family" her caregivers Kristel and Carly. Siblings Violet (Ray) Yoshimura, Alice (Harry) Inouye (deceased), Katie Iwamoto (deceased), Raymond "Chop" (Carolee) Kaneshiro and Ronald "Satch" (Alice) Kaneshiro. Services will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Diamond Head Mortuary. Visitation 10:00 am and Services at 10:30 am. No flowers. Family kindly requests that masks be worn for everyone's safety.
