94, of Lanai City, Hawaii, peacefully passed away on June 14, 2022, at her daughter's home in Kaneohe. She was born in Lahaina, Maui, and grew up in Kauaula Camp. Setsuko graduated from Lahainaluna High School and always looked forward to her Class of '45 reunions.Setsuko "Karen" retired as a Clerk-Typist at Lanai High & Elementary School. Post retirement, she enjoyed going to the Lanai Senior Center. There, she honed her ukulele and hula skills. She loved being part of the Lanai Senior Serenaders and performing at many community events. Setsuko was a member of the Lanai Hongwanji Church and active with the Fujinkai Club.
Setsuko loved to travel. Her most memorable was a trip to Japan with her five daughters and visiting relatives in Otake City, Hiroshima.
Setsuko loved her family and had many wonderful friends. She is survived by daughters Barbara, Tina, Gwen Nelson, Marjorie Parenteau and Nora Eharis.
