75, of Honolulu, Hawaii passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022. Her children were by her side.Diane was born in St Petersburg, Florida on August 18, 1946, where her father was stationed following the end of World War II. The youngest child of Henry Philip Dolim and Virginia Ridge Dolim, Diane was raised in the plantation village of Keahua, Maui and later in the Westchester neighborhood of Los Angeles. She was a 1964 graduate of St. Bernard's High School.
Diane completed her school years in Los Angeles and attended UCLA where she received a degree in Economics in 1968. She returned to Hawaii in 1970. She raised her children in Honolulu and has lived here for more than 50 years working for most of those years as a tax accountant.
Diane was an avid quilter and loved sewing and crafts. She and her husband of almost 40 years, Arthur Young, enjoyed many years of tennis, golf, traveling and spending time with their many grandchildren.
Diane is survived by her husband Arthur Young of Honolulu, Hawaii; her children: Tracy Johnson Cota (Robert Cota) of Redondo Beach, California; Michael Curran Johnson (Tia Jones Johnson) of Severna Park, Maryland, and her stepchildren: Barbara Jo Akana (David Akana) of Kalihiwai, Kauai, Robin Low (Edwin Low) of Kaliua, Hawaii, Scott Young (Sandy McGonagle) of Ewa Beach, and Kelly Kearns (Littleton, Colorado). In addition, she leaves many cherished grandchildren.
A service has not been scheduled at this time. The family hopes to make arrangements for an in-person service later this year. Memorials may be made in Diane Young's name to Planned Parenthood.
