He is survived by his spouse, Patricia; Nathan (Laurie) Okino, Terri (Stuart) Tanaka, Kerri (Michael) Tanimoto; stepchildren, Andres Lee Pittman, Bruce Lee (Darlene) Pittman, Caron-Lee (William) Benton; grandchildren: Ashley, Kaycee, Kody, Austin, Darianne, Aeryn, Cailey, Andrew and Robert; brother Fred (Sharon) Okino; niece, Kirsten (lan) Tsuda and nephew Todd Okino.
Thomas was an avid race car driver and mechanic in his early years, then switched to deep sea fishing. He was in numerous fishing tournaments throughout the island. He also was in tournaments in Lahaina, Maui during their Mardi Gras Festival. His passion for deep sea fishing was so great he started making deep sea fishing boats with some friends.
Thomas retired from Hawaiian Tel after thirty years as a lineman and telephone installer. He then went to work for Hawaiian Airlines in fleet support where he retired after 15 years. His greatest past time was taking care of his yard and plants, his 2007 Toyota Tundra, and traveling to the mainland to visit his grandchildren.
Services will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022, at Mililani Mortuary, Mauka Chapel. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m.; Memorial Service at 10:30 am.; Inurnment at 11:30 a.m. to follow at Mililani Memorial Park.
