Despite her devotion to her pharmaceutical career, there was nothing more important to Cyndi than family and friends. Her biggest joy in life was the birth of her son, Ryan. Cyndi was outgoing, generous, and her bubbling personality and bright welcoming smile turned everyone she met into forever friends. She discovered her joy in playing tennis, and it became her lifelong passion. Equally important to Cyndi was her love of animals. Nothing excited Cyndi more than visiting the local zoo or aquarium. Although Cyndi lived much of her adult life outside of Hawaii, she had always intended to return home. Our Cyndi has now come home for good.
In addition to Ryan, Cyndi is survived by her partner, Robert Detrich; her sisters, Sharon Schiavoni (Richard) and Caryn Chang (Douglas); her brothers, Russell Siu (Marcy Uyehara) and Douglas Siu (Josephine), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Friday, September 2, 2022, at the Hawaiian Memorial Park Chapel, Kaneohe. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. and a burial service at 1:00 p.m.
