TAKEMI GOYA
TAKEMI GOYA Takemi Goya 92, of Waipahu, passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 24, 2022. Takemi was born in Waipahu on January 15,1930, to Ushi and Sanra Goya. He attended Waipahu High School and the University of Hawaii where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
Takemi was a proud Army veteran, he served during the Korean War. Following the war, he was a budget analyst for the Army at Fort Shafter, Honolulu. He retired after 30 yrs of dedicated service. He is survived by his wife Harriet; 5 children: Gregory (Johanna), Robin (Ross), Garrick (Nadine), Debbie (Rusty), Darrin (Terry); 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and his sister Jeannette Capps (Ian).
He enjoyed participating in family events, Okinawan functions and loved traveling. He was a devoted caring dad who spent his weekends with us going to the beach, shore fishing, drives around the island and picnics. Dad was a good man who was kind, generous and always smiling. People often commented on his smiles and gentle demeanor. An avid MLB fan, he spent his later years cheering on the local boys who made it in the big leagues.

We miss him, and he will live on in our hearts forever!
