MARNEY CHANG ZUTTERMEISTER
MARNEY CHANG ZUTTERMEISTER In the early morning of Thursday, September 30, 2021, while surrounded by his family, our beloved Marney Chang Zuttermeister went home to the Lord. Marney was born to Delta Chang Zuttermeister and Carl Henry Zuttermeister Jr. on April 28, 1955, and was the third of their 8 children. His life centered around the generations of the Chang, Zuttermeister, and McCabe families. His many friends and neighbors reminded him of bygone days in Kane'ohe where everyone knew you and where you belonged. He graduated from St. Louis High School c/o 1974. He also attended Windward and Honolulu Community College while working at numerous jobs at Tiki Tops, CYO Summer Camp, Kamaka Ukulele, Universal Tire before settling at TV Systems and retiring from Oceanic Time Warner/Spectrum.
Marney was a man of many talents and interests. He enjoyed spending time with his family, classmates, and friends "the boys" leaving a legacy in the way he always took time to teach and care for others. Waiting eagerly to see him again are his wife Jere 'Ilima, children Emalia and Keylen (Janisha); grandchildren Kaikila and Kailea Kaiulani; siblings: D. Ululani (Billy-predeceased), Carl (Susan), Keith (Melanie Inovejas), George (Charlynn), Dale (Ronnell), sister-in-law Lori, Harold (Rhonda), Kurt; loving aunts Noenoelani Lewis, Kuuipo Dougher and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Marney is preceded in death by parents, Carl and Delta Zuttermeister, paternal grandparents Carl Sr. and Emily Zuttermeister, aunt Justina Preston, cousin Kawika Kekuaokalani, maternal grandparents, Mars and Henrietta Chang, and uncles Melvyn and Elliot Chang.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at He'eia State Park (Ulu Mau Village) with visitation at 4:00 p.m. and program starting at 4:30 p.m.
We ask for stories of remembrance to be shared casually with family and friends as we celebrate his life.
