After graduating from high school, he joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea and stateside. After his enlistment, he attended Honolulu Business College under the G.I. Bill and was employed by Hawaiian Electric after graduating. He retired in 1988 after 31 years of service.
Richard was active in the Music Ministry of the Holy Spirit Church in Fairfield and a member of the Disciples of Jesus and Couples for Christ. He also helped with delivering for Meals on Wheels and supported America Needs Fatima and the Marion Movement of Priests organization.
Services will be held on Sept. 9, 2022 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sacramento. Visitation and Rosary at 3pm. Mass at 4pm. He will be cremated and placed in a niche in Fairfield.
