Mary Ann (Silva) Owens was born in Waialua, Oahu - April 29, 1937 and died on August 19, 2022 in Honolulu. She spent her first years in Hilo on the Big Island of Hawaii. Her parents were Cyprian Silva and Belamaeda (Medeiros). She was the youngest of four children. Lorna, Cyprian Jr., and Priscilla She married Kermit George Owens. Together they had nine children - Father Michael Owens (Diocese of Honolulu), Donald (Eydie Bylsma), Anne Marie (William Jacintho), Paul (Lena Keawe), Thomas (Tanya Laconia), Matthew (Kawehi Seria), Robert (Rui Sasaki), Mary Anthony (Still born), Therese Marie (Jaimie Yap) along with 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Sarena Rena, and Dominic Sossin were extended members of our family.
Visitation will be September 15 at the Main Chapel of St. Stephen's Diocesan Center, located at 6301 Pali Highway beginning at 10:30. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00. Burial will follow at Hawaii State Veteran's Cemetery. Masks will be required along with Covid Social Distancing Guidelines. Instead we ask that you buy a plant (preferably roses since they were mom's favorite) for in your house or garden as a living memorial to her.
