David Takeshi Ikegami (96), of Honolulu, passed away on August 2, 2022. He was born on May 16, 1926, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Kichitaro and Matsuye Ikegami. When he was seven years old, his family moved to Honolulu in 1933. David graduated from Roosevelt High School and George Washington University.He was an insurance and real estate broker until he retired in 1993. He was an active member of his church throughout his life and served three missions in Japan for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
David was actively engaged in community service with the PTA, Toastmasters, Japanese Junior Chamber of Commerce, and Hawaii Junior Chamber of Commerce organizations. In his later years, he also loved volunteering at the Rehab Hospital of the Pacific.
David is survived by his wife Elsie; daughter Donna; son Avery; grandchildren Alycia, Kelyn (Romy), and Gavyn (Chie); great-grandson Toma; and sister Carol Watase.
