MARY JOCELYN STOCKMary Jocelyn Stock passed away peacefully in her Kailua home with family at her side on August 24, 2022. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 11, 1942. Her childhood days were spent in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan with brothers Doug & Bob where she attended Bloomfield Hills High School and excelled in Field Hockey. Mary graduated from Middlebury College in 1964 then flew as a Pan Am Flight Attendant based in San Francisco flying all around the South Pacific. She took her mother, Dottie, on a round the world trip before leaving the airline in 1967. Mary moved to Hawaii in 1968 and enjoyed all that island life had to offer - playing in the Honolulu Women's Soccer League (1972-1976), enjoying days at the beach, running her own business "Mary Mary Vending" selling ice cream from Hawaii Kai to Ewa Beach and ran the 1983 Honolulu Marathon. Mary went back to school and received her Masters Degree in Educational Psychology from UH in 1973. She met her husband David Stock in 1974 at the Kapiolani Park soccer fields and they married in 1976.

Mary began teaching at Waiokeola Preschool in 1982 and became Director in 1984 a position she held until her retirement in 2003. She loved the children, teachers, & staff and they all loved her. After retiring, she attended Windward Community College, took just about every art class they offered, then spent many years painting, creating stained glass artwork, mosaics and beautiful jewelry. Mary's most treasured times were spent with her children, grandchildren and family dog Nala. Mary loved our early morning walks on Kailua Beach with Nala to "Touch the Rock!" and see her many friends along the beach. Upon retirement, Mary enjoyed traveling to other countries with David as well as with some of her best friends from the neighborhood.
