FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

NAMI “LINDA” FUNAKOSHI
NAMI 92 of Wahiawa, Hawaii, passed away peacefully at her home on October 24, 2020. She was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on October 31, 1927, and lived in Brazil until age 12, when her family moved to Japan.
Linda met her husband Raymond Funakoshi in Tokyo, where Ray was serving in the U.S. Army. They married on January 25, 1952, in Tokyo, Japan, and moved to Hawaii shortly after.
She was employed at the Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) for over 30 years as a Store Manager for the Schofield Barracks, Wheeler AFB, and Tripler Army Medical Center locations.
Her happiest retirement years were spent traveling – especially to Las Vegas, spending time with her grandchildren, and hosting gatherings for family and friends at her home.
Linda is survived by her children: Ann (Dane) Yamamoto, Steve (Penny) Funakoshi, Eric Funakoshi, Randy (Stephanie) Funakoshi; 12 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Raymond, and grandson, Randon Funakoshi.

Celebration of Life Service to be held at Mililani Memorial Park
& Mortuary, Mauka Chapel on October 6, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation: 9:00 a.m.; Burial: 11:30 a.m., Reception to follow.
