Raymond T. Shimabuku, 83, passed away on July 17, 2022. Ray, also known as "Sonny", was born in Mountain View and graduated from Hilo High School in 1956. He was a member of the HI Army National Guard, a 20-year veteran of the US Air Force, a Dept. of Defense retiree, a Golf Pro, and a Golf Coach at Chaminade and Pearl City HS. Ray enjoyed listening to music, playing the ukulele and guitar, and being with family. He will be missed very much.Ray is survived by his wife, Sharlene; children, Greg (Mimi), Colleen (Bill) Pimental, and Debra (Doug) Buote; and grandson, Cobi. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Laurel. Private services were held.
