68, of Kalihi Valley, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 30, 2022. He was born in Ilocos Sur, Philippines and moved to Hawaii at an early age. Rodney was a W.R. Farrington High School graduate, a United States Marines Corps veteran, and most recently, a bus operator for Oahu Transit Services. Rodney is preceded in death by parents Felix and Elena Cardenas Sr.; brothers Edwin and Clifford. Survived by sons Daniel (Natalia), Matthew (Nicole), and Thomas (Amber) Haleamau; siblings Felix (Judy) Cardenas Jr. and Brenda (Clifford) Abero; sister in law Delana Cardenas; and grand- daughter Leena Cardenas.
Services will be held on September 28, 2022 at Borthwick Mortuary's Makai Chapel. Visitation is at 10:00 AM; Service at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery at 2:00 PM. Masks preferred. Flowers welcomed.
