Carol was born on September 27, 1944 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Masawo and Ayako Tanaka. She attended McKinley High School and graduated from the University of Hawaii. As a primary school teacher at Lincoln Elementary she touched many lives and always encouraged her students to do their best. Growing up in the Church of the Crossroads she served as an active member later in life. Her dedication to health and the arts was evidenced in her avid practice of Tai Chi. Carol will be remembered for her love of people, pets and games at family parties. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and served as a caregiver for several family members. Carol passed away peacefully on July 20, 2022 surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband Wilfred Lau and two sons Aaron and Brandon.
