Bob attended the University of Hawaii and graduated with his BA, while raising his two sons, Robert, Jr. and Bart, and working full-time at United Airlines, eventually becoming stores manager. He retired from United Airlines after 37 years. Bob also was appointed by Mayor Eileen Anderson in the early 1980s to the Police Commission where he served for 20 years, many years as the Chair.
An avid golfer most his life. He was a member of the Moanalua Golf Club and the Honolulu Country Club. He looked forward to his regular weekly golf matches and the 19th hole with his buddies. He is remembered by his golf buddies and the survivors of his lifelong Kaimuki and St. Louis high school gang, although many are missed and remembered. Survived by his beloved and dedicated wife, Lana, his sons Robert, Jr. (Renee) and Bart (Lisa) and his grandchildren, Kellen, Elyse, Lia and Rachel, sister Helen, and brothers George, Richard, Harry and Francis. Predeceased by his parents, George and Hatsue. His ashes are to be scattered privately.
