David Sunao Murakami, of Aiea, Hawaii, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2022, at the age of 82.David attended St. Louis High School where the debut to his success as a baseball player began under the legendary Francis Funai. As a student athlete, he furthered his education and became a standout player for the University of Nebraska. Upon returning home, he continued his journey and played for the Asahi's, Hawaii League and various AJA teams. David would wrap up his illustrious baseball career as an Assistant Coach for the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
After many years of working in the banking industry, David established his own successful appraisal company, where he enjoyed working alongside his children.
He is survived by wife Linda; children: Ricky, Dawn Murakami-Kim (Wayne), Todd (Shiho), Chad (Leslie), Marcus; and grandchildren: Zachary-Alan Kim, Joshua-Taylor Kim, Shay, Jadon David, Elizabeth Deelila, Peytyn, Cheyna and Chanelle.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather,
who will live on in our hearts forever.
