FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

MITCHELL K. OSAKO
MITCHELL K. OSAKO Mitchell Kapolani Osako, 50, of Spokane, passed away on September 19, 2022, in Spokane, Washington. A celebration of Mitch's life will be held on the football field at Whitworth University following their Homecoming Game on October 8, 2022. Private scattering of ashes will follow in Hawaii at a later date.
Mitch was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to Candace (Bolton) Dye and Warren Osako on July 21, 1972. He was a 1990 graduate of Damien Memorial High School in Honolulu and a 1995 graduate of Whitworth College (University) in Spokane. Mitch exuded the aloha spirit throughout his life and was loved deeply by his family and countless friends. Mitch's big heart and ability to make people feel comfortable and welcome will be missed by all who knew him.
Mitch was preceded in death by his grandparents on both sides as well as numerous beloved friends and relatives. Mitch is survived by his mother and stepfather, Candace & Kenneth Dye of Kamuela, Hawaii, his father and stepmother, Warren & Susan Osako of Lanai City, Hawaii, and his sister and brother-in-law, Erin Dye & David Johnson of Aurora, Colorado. He is also survived by his best friend and honorary brother, Ron Schafer, and his family.
A special mahalo and sincere gratitude to the Hong family for their support. This gratitude extends to members of the Spokane 'ohana aka Mitch's "Spohana".
Mitch's family would also like to extend sincere thanks to Hospice of Spokane for their gentle and dignified care. Arrangements were by Heritage Funeral & Cremation of Spokane.
