FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Herbert Bessa
Herbert Bessa 90, passed away peacefully on August 4th, 2020. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on April 4th, 1930. Herbert served as a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a prominent Waikiki Beach Boy.
Herbert was the owner and Captain of the infamous catamaran "Manu Kai". A commercial catamaran which he sailed from San Francisco, bringing to Hawaii the first of its kind in that era. The Manu Kai entertained decades of visitors and locals as well, with boat tours along the coast of beautiful Waikiki Beach.
Herbert was predeceased by his only son, Kevin Bessa. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 12th, 2022, at 8:30 a.m. on the beach fronting the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Hotel/Duke's. A U.S. Marine Corps Funeral Honors Ceremony will precede Herbert's final sail out on the Manu Kai Catamaran with family for an ocean burial service.

Friends and Family are also welcome to paddle out to say their final Aloha to our beloved Uncle Herb.
