Monika was born in Northern California on July 18th, 1970, to her parents Donald J. Mordasini a native to San Francisco and her mother Helena K. Volk from Austria. Monika went to Lynbrook High School where she played field hockey & voted MPV and was well loved by her classmates and teachers. She attended college at Chico State University. After graduating, she moved to Texas where she earned two MBA's. Monika's career eventually took her to the island of Oahu where she met Bob. She worked hard and dedicated her life to helping others as an affordable housing developer. She was responsible for overseeing the largest HUD public housing rehabilitation in the State of Hawaii, the Towers of Kuhio park.
Monika was a bright spirit who spread love and joy to everyone she met. She had an abundance of energy and laughter that would light up any room. She was extremely intelligent and highly regarded in her work community. She even did a few cameo appearances on Hawaii 50. Monika loved the outdoors and being fit. She prided herself on being very athletic and was good at all sports which she maintained her whole life. She enjoyed her daily swims while living in Hawaii and calming walks on the beach with her husband Bob. Monika will be missed by all who knew and loved her. RIL my loving and amazing wife until we meet again.
Services will be held by her husband Bob Rossen in Hawaii and by her surviving family in California. Details at a later date.
