78, of Kapahulu, Hawaii, passed away at Tripler Hospital on October 8, 2022. He was surrounded by his loving family and devoted wife of 52 years. Joe was born on January 23, 1944 in West Orange, NJ. He voluntarily enlisted in the US Army during the Vietnam War and completed two tours of duty. Joe loved all animals, photography, cancer research, and helping others whenever and however possible. Joe is survived by his wife Phuong "Chi", sister Dorothy, 7 children, 13 grandchildren, and 2 great- grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rolf and Margaret (McHenry) Otto, and best friend of 14 years - his dog Buddy. Services will be held at the Nu'uanu Memorial Park & Mortuary (East Chapel) on November 4, 2022. Visitation will begin at 9 am; service at 10 and refreshments at 11. Military burial ceremony will be at 1 pm at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery in Kaneohe.
