FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

RONALD PEROFF, M.D.
RONALD PEROFF, M.D. Dr. Ronald Peroff died very unexpectedly October 10, 2022. He was born in Toronto, Canada. His parents migrated from northern Greece (Macedonia) making him the first born Canadian in the Peroff family. Ron attended Lawrence Park Collegiate High School and upon graduation was accepted into medical school as a freshman at the University of Toronto. His academic skills brought great pride to his parents. While on a medical training rotation at Queen's, Ron, decided his medical practice would be in Hawaii. The decision was made while he was sitting on the beach New Years Day and Canada was covered in snow.
Ron was an Ear, Nose, and Throat physician for over 50 years at the Honolulu Medical Group with a private practice at Queen's and had planned to retire in December 2022. Being a doctor was Ron's greatest passion so he postponed retirement until the very end. Ron loved his patients and medicine, serving as president of the Honolulu Medical Society and several other medical committees.
He loved participating in sports and played football for the University of Toronto where the newspaper dubbed him "Rocket Ron" for his speed. Later he used that speed to compete in the Honolulu Marathon in less than three hours several times, joining only four percent of the world's fastest runners. Ron and his wife, Karen, ran six miles every day starting at 5:30 a.m. They also travelled extensively every year, enjoying life to its fullest.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Karen Hastings; son Roderick Peroff (Lory); 2 granddaughters, and very favorite travel buddies, Vaiva and Milena, and brother George. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Robin and parents William and Diane Peroff.

Services honoring the life of Dr. Ronald Peroff will be Thursday, November 10, 2022, at the Honolulu Elks Club.
Visitation: 3:00 p.m.; Service 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Dr. Peroff's name to the Queen Emma Clinic at The Queen's Medical Center.

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
