FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Lucille Creps Pfaltzgraff
Lucille Creps PfaltzgraffPassed quietly from this earth Monday night, October 31 at age 95. She was a resident at Hale Ku'ike Bayside in Kaneohe. She is survived by a sister Marcella (Tom) Carter and brother Walter (Roselie) Wescott.

Luci will be lovingly remembered by sons Robert (Debra) Creps, William (Janey) Creps, Bruce (Sheila) Creps and daughter Susan (James) Gomes, 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Luci was born in Willernie, Minnesota on December 21, 1926. She graduated from Mahtomedi High School in 1944 and left Minnesota for work in Washington D.C. as a typist for the Navy Bureau of Supplies and Accounts. While there she met LTJG Robert (Bob) Creps and they married July 13, 1947.

They then came to Oahu for Bob's short-term assignment to audit Pearl Harbor's PX and decided to stay, eventually settling in Kailua on Kaiholu Place.

A committed volunteer, Luci was a driving force for the Lani-Kailua Outdoor Circle as President in the 1960s, and for The Outdoor Circle as President in the 1970s. Later she was a founding member of Scenic Hawai'i. Luci received Letters of Commendation from both the Governor and Mayor when Diamond Head was named a National Natural Landmark in 1968 and thus receiving complete protection from future development. When you now see the unspoiled, green slopes of Diamond Head you are seeing Luci's vision.

After Bob Creps unexpectedly died in 1971, she married Albert Pfaltzgraff in 1975, extending her family and circle of love, with Timothy (Jan), Anthony (Charlene), and Debra (Robert), 3 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Luci survives Albert who died in 1996.

Luci leaves behind her true Aloha Spirit, which she shared with close family members and strangers alike. Never one to preach, Luci inspired her family, friends, and community with her honesty, generosity, and respect for others. Remarkable in her boundless energy, she was ever a champion of compassion and sat through the lonely hours of hospice with many friends during their final hours. Her influence is indelibly stamped upon the hearts of all who knew her, and she can now brighten the very heavens.

A Memorial Service for Luci will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Kailua on Saturday, November 12. Greetings and welcoming with family will begin at 10:00 a.m. A Memorial Service will begin at 10:30 followed by Mass at 11:00. At 12:00 p.m. a reception will be held in the church recreation hall with food and beverages served.

In lieu of gifts or flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lani-Kailua Outdoor Circle (lkoc.org; specify donation to the "Lani-Kailua Branch") or to Scenic Hawaii (scenichawaii.org/membership/).
