Benjamin passed away on Saturday, Sept. 17th in Los Angeles at the age of 56. Born in Kohala and raised in Hilo. He was retired from the Dept. Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He was an adult correctional officer at Halawa Correctional Facility, U.S. Navy veteran and Naval Reserve retiree. Funeral service will be on Friday, November 18th at Holy Family Catholic Church in Honolulu at 10:00am. Interment and military honors at 2:00pm at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery in Kaneohe, Oahu. He is survived by his wife Dina and son Storm. Mother, Dorothy Castillo, Stepmother, Terri Castillo, Grandmother, Frances Carreira, Brothers, Gordon (Julie), Michael Benevides, Brandon (Angel), Sisters, Denise Estrada, Cheryl (Ray) Morett, Stacey Benevides and numerous nieces & nephews.
