Helen (Sau Chun) Chun Kau, born May 1, 1921 in Honolulu, HI, died Nov. 1, 2022, at Hale Kuike, Kaneohe, HI. She grew up in Manoa Valley where her family with 10 children had their own taro patch and mountain apple tree. After graduation from McKinley High School she went to secretarial school following which she worked as a legal secretary for her attorney brother until she retired in 1982. She was devoted to her family and loved to sew, making clothes for herself and her children. After her retirement she had a thirst for learning and took up real estate, accounting, tap dancing, tennis, and playing the piano and ukulele. She began to travel and enjoyed seeing the world on hikes, and cruises. She took up Tai Chi.She is predeceased by her husband, Henry SY Kau, and her 9 siblings and is survived by 3 daughters and their spouses: Kathleen and Jim Conahan of Sarasota, FL, Karen and Alan Stockton of Honolulu, HI, and Kerrianne and Keith McMurdo, of Sarasota, FL. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held Nov 17, 2022. For further information please e-mail karenkts@gmail.com.
