Leslie "Chip" Young passed away on May 28, 2022, at his home in Milburn, New Jersey. After graduating from Punahou School in 1964, he went to the University of California, Berkeley, graduating in 1968 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Soon after graduation, he joined the US Army, serving a tour in Vietnam and receiving a Bronze Star for meritorious service not associated with combat.Returning from the service in 1971, he went back to school at University of Hawaii graduating with a MS in Information and Computer Science. Leslie then went to work as a computer programmer for Kamehameha Schools/ Bishop Estate in their small data center, then a few years with NCR, and Bank of Hawaii. Eventually in 1986, Leslie got married and moved to New York City, where he spent 27 years working as a computer programmer with Citigroup. Leslie retired in 2013 and spent his time traveling and restoring an old Mercedes Benz.
Leslie is survived by his wife Siak-Fui Liow, daughter Karen, sister Stephanie Young Hee and twin brother Dr. Wesley Young.
