He attended Ali'iolani Elementary and later enrolled at 'Iolani School at the original Nu'uanu campus and became part of the class of 1949. Upon graduating, he received a NROTC scholarship to attend Marquette University and graduated in 1953. After five years of service he was hired at Dole Corporation as a Financial Operations Analyst and was later transferred to Vice President of Corporate Development at Castle & Cooke. After leaving C&C he pursued opportunities in Hong Kong and South Korea. In Seoul he became a private consultant to the president of a major South Korean company. He was instrumental in many construction projects in South Korea and around the world.
Ray is survived by his wife Carol (Tsubakihara) Wong; son Matthew (Elizabeth); daughter Ruthmarie (Kevin) Nishikawa; and his grandchildren Preston & Peyton Wong and Kendra-Ray & Callie Nishikawa.
Private services were held. A private inurnment at Diamond Head Cemetery will be done at a later date.
