FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

RUTH EMIKO YAMADA
RUTH EMIKO YAMADA91, of Pearl City, Hawaii passed away peacefully at home on the 3rd of September, 2022. She was born in Waialua, Oahu. Ruth graduated from Waialua High School in 1949, and attended Cannon's School of Business. She worked at the Naval Supply Center at Pearl Harbor 36 years and retired in 1989.

Ruth was survived by her husband, Donald Yamada; daughter, Ann (William) Quinn and daughter, Shirley (Curtis) Nishimura; Grandchildren, Daniel (Shana) Quinn, Miya (Royce) Quinn, Mahina Quinn, Lauren (Chad) Medeiros, Taryn (Kyle) Haraguchi and Ryan Nishimura; Great-Grandchildren Tanner, Taylor, Tyson and Taytum Quinn, Jett Concepcion, Lily and Nohealani Medeiros.

Ruth enjoyed baking and cooking. Giving things away made her the happiest. Staff members at her doctor's offices all loved her energy bars and mango bread. Everyone she met, loved her spunky and bubbly personality. But gatherings at their home for Sunday dinners, is what brought her the most joy. She would spend all day preparing specialties like nishime, namasu, makisushi, chow mein noodles, somen salad and chili. Her strong sense of family and the traditions she instilled in her children and grand-children, are the legacy she left to her beloved family.


Memorial Services for Ruth will take place on Saturday,
November 26, 2022 at the Mililani Memorial Park and
Mortuary's Mauka Chapel. Visitation will begin at 5:30 pm,
Celebration of Life will begin at 6:30 pm.
