FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

BERNALDO DELOS SANTOS PASCUA SR.
BERNALDO DELOS SANTOS PASCUA SR. Bernaldo Delos Santos Pascua Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, October 27, 2022. Bernaldo was born December 5, 1939 in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, Philippines to Arnulfo and Venerada Pascua.

Bernaldo is survived by brother Rudy Pascua of the Philippines, his 5 children Marilyn Pascua-Miyata (Michael), Albert (Wilma) Pascua, Bernaldo Jr. (Madelyn) Pascua, Nena (Benjamin - predeceased) Ansagay, Arnold (Mely Rose) Pascua, 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Bernaldo, Teresita and daughter Marilyn moved from the Philippines to Hawaii on December 21, 1966. After living a few months at the Kunia plantations, the family moved to Colburn Street in Kalihi until they purchased their first home on Pahukui Street in 1977. Bernaldo and Teresita purchased their second home in 1980 on Gregory Street which would be their home for the next 42 years.

He was very hardworking, always looking for every opportunity for better jobs. Bernaldo worked for a few months for Del Monte Cannery then after their move to Kalihi started working for 20th Century Furniture and Kahala Hilton Hotel. He started his construction career in 1968 with Kobayashi Construction, then Peter Bareng Construction. In January of 1969, he started working for Quality Pacific Construction for a couple months until he was offered a laborer position with Hawaiian Dredging Precast Division, he worked his way up from a Laborer, a Foreman then a General Foreman. Bernaldo retired in 1999 from Hawaiian Dredging after 30 years of service. Bernaldo was a proud member of Laborers' Union Local 368 for 30+ years. He served on the Board of Directors with the Laborers' Union as their Treasurer, then after retirement, volunteered for their Retirees' board.

It is with such sadness that Bernaldo passed 18 months after his wife Teresita Macatbag Arzaga Pascua passed. Teresita passed away suddenly on April 22, 2021. Their marriage of 58 years was blessed with unconditional love for each other. Bernaldo worked hard in the construction industry and Teresita worked from home raising 5 children. After retirement, Bernaldo and Teresita worked hard side by side expanding their family homes. It afforded them time and finances to enjoy retirement as they cared for their grandchildren, travelled, and spent countless outings with their retired Laborers' union friends.

Bernaldo and Teresita leave behind an endless legacy of
hard work, humility, integrity, generosity, sacrifice and unending love for family.

Visitation and Celebration of life will occur on Saturday
December 3, 2022 at 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at
Co-Cathedral of St Theresa, 712 North School Street, Honolulu HI 96744
Burial to follow at Valley of the Temples Cemetery at 2:00pm
