Age 79, passed away on October 29, 2022. John was born in Honolulu and spent his youth playing in the streets of Papakolea. After graduating from Maryknoll, John attended the University of Hawaii, where he received his bachelor's degree in accounting. He went on to have a long and successful career with the federal government – both with Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and as an officer with the Hawaii Army National Guard. He served his country, which included a deployment to Vietnam, until his retirement as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1999. His love, laughter, and smile will be missed by those closest to him. John is survived by his wife, Amy; his children: John Jr. (Grace) and Jennifer (Donald); 10 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild, and 1 soon-to-be great grandchild.
Memorial services will be held on December 9, 2022, at Hawaiian Memorial Park, Kaneohe. Visitation: 9:00 a.m. Services: 10:00 a.m. Burial: 1:00 p.m. at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, Kaneohe.
