Reina Ann Ku'uleialoha Mata, of Makakilo, Hawaii, age 39, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2022. She was born on March 17, 1983.Reina is survived by her daughter Leihua Marie; father Ronald Ruiz Jr. and Zina; mother Hope Mata Torres; grandmothers Colette Ruiz and Coreen Mata; siblings Rochelle, Ronalynn, Kaohu, Zachariah; aunties and uncles; many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Reina worked at Makakilo Elementary School as a lunchroom supervisor, crossing guard and a former A Plus leader for over 20 years. All the kids called her Miss Reina and she loved and cared for them deeply with her whole heart.
Everyone who knew Reina felt her big heart and giving nature. She was known as Miss Makakilo because of her out going huge personality. She had a way of making you feel so special and loved.
A celebration of her life will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church in Makakilo on Saturday, December 10th, 2022. Visitation will be at 9:30 am followed by Mass at 11:30 am. Reception to follow at Makakilo Elementary School. Green attire is encouraged.
