She enjoyed music, especially the piano and ukulele, sewing and crafts, reading biographies and writing. She and her husband Gordon enjoyed going on cruises and volunteering with the Pearl City Chapter of the Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association. She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
She is predeceased by her husband Gordon M. Kushimaejo and her daughter Laura Y. Kim. She is survived by daughter Claire (Michael) Seu; son-in-law Keith Kim; five grandchildren; brother Henry Shimabuku; sister Elaine Higa; brother-in-law Rocky Kuba; nephews, nieces and cousins.
