FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Helene Minoe “NaNa” Mugihira
Helene Minoe On the morning of October 31, 2022, at the age of 102, our beautiful and vivacious Mom left peacefully in her sleep to reunite with our Dad.

Born in McCully on February 29, 1920, her early childhood was marred, at age five, by the death of her mother. Fortunately for her and her two younger brothers, their three older half sisters were there to help raise them.

Magically, life changed for her when she met and married the "right man," our Dad, Junichi Raymond Mugihira. He was a good provider, a devoted and loving husband and father. Lucky for Mom and my sister and I, our Dad did not have the word "no" in his vocabulary. A great match for him, our Mom was a fabulous cook, an immaculate housekeeper, talented handcrafter, loving wife and a doting mother. With their two daughters, June Obayashi and Lydia (Gordon, deceased) Nakada, they attributed most of their successes in life to the support of their immediate family and also to their big extended family of lifelong childhood, military, co-workers and Tenrikyo Church friends.

Through the guidance from Kami-sama and with the Tenrikyo Doctrine as their compass, they faithfully and happily navigated through life.

Mom, aka "NaNa" is also survived by her two grandsons, Michael Nakada and Marcus (Liane) Nakada, granddaughter Jennie Ann Manoi Nakada (Jess) Suga, great-grandson Layne Allen (Wendy) Nakada and great-great-grandson Rayden Nakada.

Services will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022 with visitation from 5:00 p.m. and Tenrikyo service at 6:00 p.m. No flowers and casual attire requested. In consideration of others, masks are required.

Arrangements Provided By: Hosoi Garden Mortuary

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
