He was placed on Hospice July of this year. At the time, he was living independently at Hawaii Kai Retirement Community. Uncle oftened mentioned he was glad he got to experience life there. Unfortunately due to his declining health he needed a place that could provide a higher level of care.
He experienced his last days at Nagomi Care Home where he stated he felt like he had been there a long time and was at peace.
Uncle enjoyed bowling before Covid and once almost bowled a perfect game! He did the daily crossword puzzles, most days completing them, he was working on one the day he passed. He was an avid LA Rams and LA Lakers fan. His wish was to see one more Super Bowl even if his Rams weren't in it…well he will have an Eagle's eye view (yes the best seat in the house) in February! He also enjoyed watching Korean dramas and even addicted some people to them!
Uncle was the kindest soul anyone would meet. He was a gift to people who knew him and made people want to be a better person.
He is survived by nieces and grand nieces and nephews in the mainland and cousins on the Island.
Walter's ashes were released on 11/12/2022 as his request around Black Point Beach.
Walter requested no flowers or monetary gifts.
