FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

ANTONIO “TONY” VILLALOBOS GUIEB
ANTONIO 92, of Kailua, Hawaii, passed away November 22, 2022. Born in Santa Cruz, Ilocos Sur, Philippines to Antero and Dorotea Guieb on December 27, 1929. At an early age he volunteered to join the Luzon Guerilla Armed Forces during World War II. With his military benefits, Tony continued his studies and became a Trial Attorney for the Department of Justice in Manila, Philippines. He became the youngest elected Vice-Mayor of Santa Cruz, Ilocos Sur in 1962. Tony immigrated to Hawaii in 1967. He held various jobs in the sales and marketing of insurance products with Prudential Insurance and Lincoln National Life Insurance companies. He became a District Manager at Midland National Life Insurance Company, Honolulu Office. He joined the State of Hawaii Judiciary in 1989 as a Court Officer. He retired from the Honolulu District Court in 2004. He founded A.V. Guieb Enterprises, a family-owned entity, with his wife Elnora, providing legal, immigration and tax services to the local Filipino community.
On May 6, 2018, Tony was awarded a World War II Filipino Veterans U.S. Congressional Gold Medal for his military service.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Elnora B. Guieb; daughter, Clarice (David) Baur; son Gerald; grandchildren Danielle and Matthew Baur and numerous nephews and nieces.

December 15, 2022, Visitation: 5:30 p.m.; Services: 6:30 p.m. at St. John Vianney Church, Kailua. December 16, 2022, Visitation: 11:00 a.m.; Funeral Mass: 12:00 p.m. at St. John Vianney Church. Burial to follow at Hawaiian Memorial Park, Kaneohe at 3:00 p.m.
