89, of Honolulu, passed away on August 2, 2022. She was born in Kekaha, Kauai on December 22, 1932. She was a retired Educational Assistant with the Hawaii State Department of Education. Ellen is survived by her husband Danny Hisao of nearly 67 years; sons Curtis Hisao and Blane Hisao; daughters, Ann Masaki and Stacy Hisao-Smythe; grandchildren, Mark Masaki, Jenna Masaki, Justin Smythe, Jolleen Smythe and Brenden Hisao; great-grand- sons, Asher, Ezra and Killian; also survived by brother Charles (Sachiko) Kaneshiro; sisters, Ethel Serikaku and Carol Naipo; sister-in-law Lily Kaneshiro.
