FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

JANE T. SHIROMA
JANE T. SHIROMA Jane Tatsue Shiroma peacefully passed away on November 17, 2021. At the age of 12, Jane boarded a boat, alone, and sailed to Japan where she was raised by her grandparents. During the war, she worked in the building that is now the historic, "Hiroshima Peace Memorial" and survived that day, August 6, 1945, luckily because she was sent on a work assignment across the river, behind the mountain, protecting her from the effects of the bomb! As a Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Survivor, Jane vowed to live life to its fullest. Teaching Okinawan Dance, singing Karaoke, partying, enjoying family and going to Las Vegas entertained her till age 96. She was a member of Ginowan Shijin Kai.
Predeceased by her husband Shinichi; parents, Goro & Ayako; brothers, Haruto & Shiro Taniguchi, and Sister, Doris Murakami.
She is survived by her son Lionel (Frances); grandsons: Lon (Keala, Kea, La'a, La'i), Lane (Taryn, Laney, Laneson, Nia) and Les; daughter Verna (Keethe); hanai family: Jean, Keiko (Reid, Rylan), Shigeko; sister; Gloria Okada; Poochies; Mochi & Ohagi.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Palolo Hongwanji.
