Ronald King Jarrett, a Husband, Father, Tutuman, Businessman and Native Hawaiian Community Leader from Kailua, passed away at the age of 66 on December 02, 2022, on O'ahu. He leaves behind his wife, Cynthia Pacheco; three children and their spouses: Kimokalani and Kanani Pilares Jarrett, Kainoaikaikanokalani and Cheri Jarrett, Ka'o'o'nokapuaikahikinaheala Jarrett and Justin Nagai and seven grandchildren: Kaimana Pilares, Kaoo Pilares Jarrett, Keanu Pilares Jarrett, Kahiau Pilares Jarrett, Kihawahineikealaulaopaliuli Jarrett, Keali'iomoana Jarrett Nagai and Kailamamauhiliikaahuakane Jarrett Nagai.
Ron is proceeded in death by his father, James King Jarrett, Jr., and is survived by his mother, Mildred Jarrett; sister, Debi Jarrett and children; Jarrett cousins and families and Ludloff cousins and families.
Ron believed strongly in family. He participated with and supported his family and extended family throughout his life. Cynthia was the love of his life for 43 years. He loved his children and admired their many accomplishments. Ron was a loving and adoring Tutuman to his grandchildren and enjoyed getting the whole family together whenever possible. He lived and shared Native Hawaiian values and spoke Hawaiian while teaching his family to perpetuate it's culture.
Ron began his first business in 1984 as a Native Hawaiian Owned Software Firm in Federal Government Contracting. Twenty years later, Ron was the Chairman of the Board for the first Small Business Association (SBA) Certified Native Hawaiian Organization, Na 'Oiwi Kane. Ron also worked with the late Senator Daniel Inouye's office to develop the SBA Native Hawaiian Organization (NHO) Program. Since its inception Ron helped to grow the program, added Na Ala Ea and helped other Native Hawaiian businesses participate in the program. Ron was an active participant and past President of the Native Hawaiian Organization Association and Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce. Ron was a recipient of the 2009 'O'O Award, a member of the Elks Lodge of Honolulu, and a donor and strong supporter of the Mamiya Theater at Saint Louis School.
Ron was an engaged participant and supporter of the Native Hawaiian community. He was a member of the Royal Order of Kamehameha I. Ron was past president of: The Friends of 'Iolani Palace, the Prince Kuhio Hawaiian Civic Club, and Partners in Development Foundation. He was a member of: the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs (Ahahui Siwila o Hawai'i), Mamaka 'Aialo, Na Kalai Wa'a Makali'i Voyaging, and the Hawai'i Community Foundation.
Ronald King Jarrett will lie in honor at Mystical Rose Oratory, Saint Louis School from 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 until 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2022.
Wednesday, December 21, 2022; 10:30 a.m. Services and Mass in the Mystical Rose Oratory. 1:45 p.m. Burial Services at Diamond Head Cemetery. 3:30 p.m. Celebration of Life at the Prince Waikiki Ballroom.
