Celebrating the life of Frances Kamauoha Ching, 81 of Honolulu, Hawaii passed away on December 1, 2022 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Frances was one of 4 children born to Andrew K. Kamauoha and Laura Lorenzo in Kalopa, Hawaii on April 6, 1941.Frances lived in Honokaa on the Big Island and then later moved to Oahu and graduated from Kailua High School, Class of 1959. She then earned her Bachelor's Degree from The Church College of Hawaii in Laie, Hawaii.
Frances served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Taiwan for 3 years. She always enjoyed teaching and was an elementary school teacher with the Department of Education and retired after over 35 years of service at Nimitz Elementary School. Frances celebrated her retirement by taking all her children and families to Walt Disney World in Florida. Frances loved her family and grandchildren very much.
Frances was a very active member in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She attended the Waikiki Ward and then moved into the Hawaii Kai Ward with her family.
Frances married Ronald Ching in 1967 and had 3 children, daughter Noelani (Martin) Patane, son Kamae (Denise) Ching, & daughter Nalani (Bronson) Haunga. She is survived by her sibling Florence (Kamauoha) Keala, 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded by her sister Baby Kamauoha and brother Andrew Kamauoha.
Frances' Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday December 28, 2022 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery, 45-425 Kamehameha Hwy, Kaneohe, Hawaii
Visitations 9am-10am, Services to begin 10am-11am with burial to follow at 1pm.
