74, passed peacefully at home in Honolulu on Oct. 14, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Masao and Kinue Uyeno, and is survived by her sisters, Sandra Miyamoto (Earl) and Karen Shultz, niece Leigh Miyamoto M.D. (Sean Jiam), nephew Eric Shultz, and grand- niece Amanda Jiam.Francine graduated from Univ. of Hawaii Manoa with a Bachelor degree in Nursing in 1969. She was a dedicated nurse and had worked at Wahiawa General, Kuakini Hospital, St. Francis Healthcare, Tripler Army Med Center, SMM VA Med Center, UC San Francisco Med Center, and others.
Francine loved all types of craft-making and delighted in exploring craft fairs. She was always ready to help out friends and families, and led a lifetime of service and volunteerism. Francine enjoyed a comfortable retirement, most recently embarked on a European trip before Covid.
Francine was a caring sister, a doting aunt and grandaunt, and a very loyal friend. She was dearly loved and will be fondly remembered for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and cheery smiles.
