Sally Ramos passed away peacefully at home at the age of 101 on January 24, 2023, surrounded by family, music and songs. She was born on April 13, 1921, in San Juan, Ilocos Sur to Braulio Agno & Eduarda Valle Agno. The youngest of three children, at the age of six, she immigrated to Hawaii along with her parents and two older siblings, John & Patsy.Throughout her working career, Sally was tapped for her leadership and supervisory qualities. She was well regarded by her peers when working at the Kauai Surf on Kauai and Sheraton Waikiki on Oahu. At times, she would act as an advisor and interpreter for immigrant families from the Philippines.
She had eight children, two who predeceased her, Alfredo Cabo, Jr. and "Kino" Cablayan. She is survived by Shirley Lapenia, Connie Jane Cabo, Linda Cruz, Wendell, Wayne and Gregory Cablayan. She also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She is greatly missed. Her memory and legacy as the family matriarch will live on for generations to come.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 18, 2023, at Borthwick Mortuary, Maunakea Chapel, Honolulu. Visitation: 9:30 a.m.; Service: 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawaiian Memorial Park.
